Ceci could use all the prayers we can throw up to Heaven please.

Coming out of recovery was not a good experience for our sweet girl.

Her pain was off the charts and the pediatric intensive care team and her ortho doctor were having a hard time getting it under control.

She’s in the pediatric intensive care unit and they are monitoring her very closely.

She was sobbing when she woke up and was rating her pain level at an all time high. 😭😭😭

It was absolutely awful witnessing her like this. My heart shattered.

It took doses of ativan, fentanyl, volum, i.v tylenol and finally an increase to her epidural to get her calm enough to talk to her daddy on the phone and get her settled.

I held the phone at her ear while he talked her down, and the meds took effect and she finally fell back asleep.

She’s needing oxygen to help keep her levels at a good baseline but this may be due to the epidural as well.

They are trying to stay ahead of the pain tonight by giving her around the clock iv pain medication to allow her to sleep and let her body rest.

I’ll have much more to update tomorrow, including details about her surgery and what’s next.

But for now I just want to sit at her bedside and watch her sleep.

This has been a very exhausting and long day for our family. Nearly 8 hours in surgery and her journey with recovery is just beginning.

Please say a prayer for sis tonight before you rest and for our friends on the other side of the world- please say a prayer for her this morning before you start your day.

I just received another phone call from the Operating Room Nurse.

Ceci is continuing to do well 😊

They are almost done closing her back and will be transferring her to the recovery room soon.

Sounds like another 45 minutes and then I’ll be able to see her.

Keep those prayers coming praying warriors for pain tolerance and recovery.

Update again once she’s in her room 💓

Just received another call from the operating room nurse.

Ceci is continuing to do well.

She did need a blood transfusion from me or dad’s directed blood donations-but she’s holding strong.

Sounds like she’ll be in surgery for another hour and a half and then will go to pediatric recovery to wake up.

They will be placing an epidural before she wakes to help with the pain.

She said if they are still working on her after 2pm, they will call with another update.

She’s been in surgery for a little over 5 hours now.

These have been the longest hours of my life. I’m so grateful that she’s doing well.

Just received my 2nd surgery update for Ceci.

She is doing well.

Stats are holding strong and the doctors are working on her spine as we speak.

The Operating Room nurse said she’ll call in another- hour and a half with her next update.

Please continue to send those prayers and good thoughts up for our girl 🙏

They took her back at about 7:30 and I’m patiently waiting to see her beautiful face again.

I heard from the Operating Room nurse shortly ago.

They just started opening Ceci up about 20 mins ago.

Since ceci will be laying face down for her back surgery, they can not use her medical port in her chest for access.

So she said they needed to place several different IV’s for medication and blood transfusions, and they had a very difficult time doing this.

Her veins just can not hold an iv very long.

Please continue to pray for our girl.

They will be updating me again in about an hour and a half.

They just took Ceci back to the Operating Room.

Please stop and say a prayer for our sweet girl.

It’s going to be between a 4-8 hour surgery.

She has 2 wonderful orthopedic specialists performing her surgery today and they will update every hour with the progress of her surgery.

No update board # for Ceci this time, I’m guessing because it’s so big and her updates will be different.

I’m very worried and trying to keep it all together for Ceci. It’s breaking my heart that once again our little girl is fighting to survive.

I’m here in the waiting room alone and I feel like I can’t breath.

Poor dad couldn’t be here today because he just started a new job and was unable to get it off. Grandma is with our boys at home and other family were unable to get time off as well.

Please pray hard. And please share with others and ask them to pray too.

We need everyone’s prayers and good thoughts.
